Dr. Regiane De Andrade received her medical degree in Brazil. She studied at Federal University of Sao Paulo-Escola Paulista de Medicina and completed her training in radiation oncology in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is board certified in radiation oncology by the Brazilian College of Radiology and worked as faculty at the Federal University of Sao Paulo. Dr. Andrade then joined the University of Pittsburgh in a research capacity. She was involved in several research projects for integration of newer technologies such as IMRT, PET-CT, IGRT, and 4D-PET-CT for the Radiation Oncology Department. She continued to complete a Radiation Oncology Residency at the University of Pittsburgh and is board certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology. Dr. Andrade's publications were pioneering for integration of these technologies into routine clinical practice, especially in use of PET-CT and IMRT for head and neck cancers. Dr. Alasil completed his ophthalmology residency training at Yale University and joined the Retina Institute of California for his retina fellowship. Dr. Alasil was part of the team who innovated en face imaging using swept source optical coherence tomography technology in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His main research interests focus on polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy, diabetic retinopathy and diabetic choroidopathy. He has written over 35 original peer-reviewed articles, major reviews,case reports, and book reviews. He has presented his work at national and international meetings including the Association of Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) annual meeting, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology(AAO). He won the best poster award at AAO and the ASCRS excellence in residency award. He was granted a travel grant to present his work on diabetic choroidopathy at Asia ARVO meeting in Yokohama, Japan, and he was invited to speak at the Rabb-Venable excellence in research program.
