Dr. Christine Thang is a Clinical Instructor in the Division of General Pediatrics. Dr. Thang is a board-certified pediatrician and member of the faculty practice at the Children's Health Center in Westwood, CA. She precepts medical students and resident physicians training in the UCLA pediatrics clinic. She is also one of the medical team providers for the UCLA Pediatric Craniofacial Program. Her clinical interests are in well newborn care, craniofacial needs, childhood trauma and resiliency, and healthy lifestyle and nutrition. Dr. Thang earned her medical degree from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) with AOA honors. She completed her pediatric training in the UCLA Pediatric Residency Program and was awarded the Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Residents and Fellows Award. After residency, she served as a Chief Resident and concurrently pursued the DGSOM Medical Education Fellowship. Dr. Thang received her undergraduate degree from UCLA with a major in Physiological Sciences and minor in Asian American Studies, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Her professional interests include community pediatrics, advocacy, and medical education. She is actively involved in the American Academy of Pediatrics at the local and national levels. Dr. Thang is dedicated to improving the care of all children and to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate medical education levels. Dr. Thang grew up in Los Angeles. She is a spirited Bruin alumna.

Dr. Rebecca S. Ahdoot is a general nephrologist who practices in the downtown Los Angeles office. Her clinical interests include acute and chronic kidney disease, hypertension/high blood pressure, kidney stones, electrolyte abnormalities and dialysis. She is dedicated to educating patients and explaining medical information so that they may participate as partners in their healthcare. As a certified medical Spanish speaker, she is able to communicate directly with Spanish speaking patients, strengthening these relationships by providing culturally responsive care. Interested in human development and interactions and understanding its importance in delivering compassionate medical care, Dr. Ahdoot earned her bachelor?s degree in sociology from UCLA, graduating with Latin Honors. She earned her medical degree from UC Irvine and completed her internal medicine residency training at Kaiser Permanente - Los Angeles Medical Center. She then participated in the esteemed UCLA Kennamer & Kaiser Permanente Primary Care/Community Medicine Fellowship, which focuses on healthcare policy, patient advocacy and primary care, and completed her nephrology training in a joint Kaiser Permanente & Cedars-Sinai program. She is double board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology. Dr. Ahdoot is passionate about service and outreach. She previously provided free or low cost primary care services to underserved Los Angeles communities and created a comprehensive health education program at the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic. She also founded a bi-annual health fair to address the lack of affordable and timely vision and hearing services available to low-income patients, and has volunteered in Guatemala with the HELPS International Group Medical Mission. When she is not working, Dr. Ahdoot enjoys yoga, boxing, gardening, arts/crafts and traveling.

Dr. Stewart Reed earned his medical degree from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in New York City and then completed Internal Medicine training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. Prior to his medical training, he studied Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with distinction. His interests include primary care, patient advocacy, medical education, and helping people recover from addiction to prescription drugs. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading, playing tennis, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Jamie Polito is a fourth generation Angelino and comes from a long line of ?Dr. Polito?s? including her grandfather, father, uncles, and brother. She is a proud graduate of Immaculate Heart High School and Santa Clara University. She graduated in the top 10% of her class from Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado with a focus on Primary Care. After working in a small town in New Zealand for a year, Dr. Polito joined the UCLA team in 2009. She worked in a thriving practice on campus in Westwood for 7 years and transitioned to the UCLA Torrance office in 2016 in order to be closer to her new home in the South Bay. Dr. Polito takes pride in her work as a primary care physician relishing in the role?s opportunities for relationship building, advocacy, and problem solving. She enjoys a wide variety of medical care with particular interests in preventative medicine and nutrition. She has a strong appreciation for the mind-body-spirit connection and does her best to practice medicine with an individualized approach. Outside of the office, Dr. Polito enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, hiking, and playing the drums.
