Dr. Aurelia Nattiv is a Professor in the UCLA Departments of Family Medicine, Division of Sports Medicine and Non-Operative Orthopaedics, and in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She has served as the Director of the UCLA Metabolic Bone and Osteoporosis Center for over 20 years, and sees patients in the areas of osteoporosis across the lifespan, and sports medicine, with an emphasis on women's sports medicine. Dr. Nattiv's primary areas of research and publications have been in the area of the female athlete triad (disordered eating, amenorrhea and osteoporosis), as well as stress fracture risk factors and prevention, and osteoporosis management. She speaks nationally and internationally, and publishes extensively in these areas. Dr. Nattiv received her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the Sonoma County Community Hospital in Santa Rosa, California. She received her sports medicine fellowship training at the UCLA Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program, and has been an integral faculty member for the fellowship training program over the last two decades. In addition to serving as a team physician for the UCLA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics since 1994, Dr. Nattiv has served as a team physician and consultant for USA Track and Field, USA Gymnastics and the United States Olympic Committee. Dr. Nattiv has served as Chair and first author of the American College of Sports Medicine Position Stand on the Female Athlete Triad and has also co-edited a book entitled The Female Athlete. She has served as an elected member of the Board of Directors for the American College of Sports Medicine, as well as two terms for the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. She currently serves on the editorial board for the British Journal of Sports Medicine, and reviewer for multiple journals.

A Los Angeles native, Andrew Weiss, M.D. graduated from the Harvard School and then left Southern California to attend college and play soccer at the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts in the Biological Basis of Behavior, Dr. Weiss returned to Los Angeles and taught high school biology and algebra. He subsequently attended medical school at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine where he graduated with honors/Alpha Omega Alpha and then completed an orthopedic surgery residency at UCLA-Harbor Medical Center. During his residency, Dr. Weiss had extensive exposure to general orthopedics and orthopedic trauma. Afterward, he completed a sports medicine fellowship at UCLA Medical Center, where he served as a team physician for the UCLA football, volleyball, and baseball teams. In addition to his background in general orthopedics, orthopedic sports medicine, and orthopedic trauma, Dr. Weiss loves working with children and has developed expertise in treating pediatric orthopedic trauma, including the operative and non-operative management of broken bones and other injuries. He has written many articles on laser surgery and the MRI evaluation of articular cartilage and has lectured extensively on the evaluation and management of sports-related injuries. As an avid runner, competing in both marathons and triathlons, he has firsthand knowledge of the physical and mental challenges athletes face. Dr. Weiss is a Board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
