And, of couse, no training is complete without teaching you the skills you need to know to keep your dog happy and obedient. I intuitively know and understand what your dog is thinking and feeling. Whatever the problems are, they can be fixed. The process isnt complete until I fix the dog and then I teach you how to maintain the solution. Part of eradicating your dogs problems is teaching you how to connect with your pet on the animal level instead of a human level. A big key to training success is your relationship with your dog. There needs to be a balance of trust, respect, structure, understanding, and leadership. I train your dog in a way that he doesnt even realize hes being trained. It happens naturally, like it would in the pack. I dont put a learning curve on any of the dogs that I train. That means wherever I go, so does your dog. I watch every move that your dog makes and he keeps an eye on every move that I make. We essentially are each others shadows. Your dog learns what behavior is expected throughout the day. Many other training facilities only spend fifteen minutes, three times a day with your dog and then the dog goes back into the kennel for the rest of the day. I do not believe this is how to get long lasting change.

Dr. Christine Thang is a Clinical Instructor in the Division of General Pediatrics. Dr. Thang is a board-certified pediatrician and member of the faculty practice at the Children's Health Center in Westwood, CA. She precepts medical students and resident physicians training in the UCLA pediatrics clinic. She is also one of the medical team providers for the UCLA Pediatric Craniofacial Program. Her clinical interests are in well newborn care, craniofacial needs, childhood trauma and resiliency, and healthy lifestyle and nutrition. Dr. Thang earned her medical degree from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) with AOA honors. She completed her pediatric training in the UCLA Pediatric Residency Program and was awarded the Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Residents and Fellows Award. After residency, she served as a Chief Resident and concurrently pursued the DGSOM Medical Education Fellowship. Dr. Thang received her undergraduate degree from UCLA with a major in Physiological Sciences and minor in Asian American Studies, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Her professional interests include community pediatrics, advocacy, and medical education. She is actively involved in the American Academy of Pediatrics at the local and national levels. Dr. Thang is dedicated to improving the care of all children and to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate medical education levels. Dr. Thang grew up in Los Angeles. She is a spirited Bruin alumna.

Dr. Daniel Kahn is a hospitalist physician who provides inpatient care at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Kahn obtained his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. He then completed his internship, residency and chief residency in internal medicine at UCLA. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kahn is the director of bedside ultrasound for the internal medicine residency, where he trains residents to utilize ultrasound to augment their diagnostic skills. He is also the associate director of the Global Health Pathway for the internal medicine residency. He was selected by residents to receive the “Internal Medicine Outstanding Inpatient Teaching Award” in 2018-19, and was selected to receive the “Teaching Humanistic Care at the Bedside Award" in 2017. Dr. Kahn has been working in Malawi since 2012 with a focus on tropical medicine and HIV care.

Kevin Lance Jones, OMD, LAc, offers holistic care that incorporates acupuncture, nutritional management, herbal medicine, Qigong, and therapeutic exercises at his private practice in Torrance, California. Dr. Jones completed his medical education at California Acupuncture College, where he graduated as valedictorian. He then went on to study at the famous Beijing Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, where he was the class representative and key speaker at graduation. As a post-graduate, Dr. Jones continued studying at the Beijing Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where he received training from the most renowned practitioners in the field. He then relocated to Lyon, France, where he was honored to study with the father of auriculotherapy, Dr. Paul Nogier. To this day, he still uses the methods he learned from Dr. Nogier. To round out his extensive training, Dr. Jones studied with the well-known Dr. Wu Wei-ping in Taipei, Taiwan. Dr. Jones has extensive teaching experience at numerous prestigious universities in China. Before moving to Beijing, he also taught at the California Acupuncture College in Los Angeles and the Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, California, where he served as an Associate Professor and Vice Chair of the Acupuncture Department. He had the honor of teaching courses such as acupuncture anatomy, scalp acupuncture, and acupuncture point location. He maintains active membership in the National Guild of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and has received numerous honors and awards, including the Gold Award for Research from the American Chinese Medical Association and a Certificate of Commendation from the China Acupuncture Association. Dr. Jones is married and has two children who lived with him in Beijing. His wife graduated from the renowned Beijing University of Foreign Studies with a bachelors degree in English translation. He spends his free time volunteering at his church, Eckankar, and going on day trips with his family to the many interesting places in Southern California. As an enamored student of foreign languages, Dr. Jones speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and conversational Spanish.
