James H. Lee, MD, FAAP is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. After completing his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, he received his medical degree from Michigan State University and completed his pediatrics residency training at UCLA. After residency, Dr. Lee was recruited to stay on as faculty at UCLA. In addition to his clinical responsibilities as a general pediatrician, he has leadership roles in medical education. He serves as the Associate Program Director, Continuity Clinic Director, and Resident Advisor for the Pediatrics Residency Training Program. In regards to the medical students at DGSOM, he is the Director of the Preclinical Student Pediatric Clinical Skills Course, the Pediatrics Clerkship Site Director, and a faculty advisor for the medical students interested in pursuing Pediatrics or Primary Care as a field. Dr. Lee is a faculty sponsor for the Pediatrics Interest Group and works with the group to educate the field of Pediatrics to medical students and to help create mentorship opportunities between motivated students and pediatric residents. Dr. Lee's research interests include medical education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and enhancing the care of our pediatric population with a focus on children with special healthcare needs. His passion for teaching has been recognized by being awarded the prestigious Robert C Neerhout Teaching Award three times at the Assistant Clinical Professor level. Finally, in 2020, he was selected to be one of DGSOM's Educators for Excellence to be involved in the development and teaching of the practice of medicine curriculum to the incoming medical students.

Dr. Felipe Saavedra is a UCLA LGBTQ+ Healthcare Fellow, whose clinical interests include HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ care. He is also passionate about medical education and teaching and reducing healthcare disparities in vulnerable populations. Dr. Saavedra was born and raised in Chile, where he graduated with honors from the University of Chile Faculty of Medicine. During his medical training, Dr. Saavedra was a researcher at an HIV/AIDS specialty clinic in Santiago. After working in primary care, Dr. Saavedra joined the UCLA International Medical Graduate Program in 2015 and completed his Family Medicine training at UCLA. During his education and training, Dr. Saavedra has looked for opportunities to educate himself and colleagues about critical healthcare issues that impact LGBTQ+ individuals. He broadened his residency program's impact on underserved Spanish-speaking communities in LA County, and always advocates for and build bridges to underserved communities Outside of work, Dr. Saavedra enjoys spending time with his husband and exploring Southern California. He also enjoys traveling, volunteering, practicing yoga, and cooking traditional Chilean food for friends and family.

Dr. Nguyen was a Boy Scout during his childhood years and fondly recalls earning his merit badge for first aid. It was this initial experience that sparked his interest in medicine and furthered by the exposure to his physician uncle, it solidified his decision to pursue a career as a physician. Practicing since 1988, Dr. Nguyen chose to specialize in internal medicine as it provides him the opportunity to care for his patients inside and out. He is focused on providing comprehensive care and takes great pride in working with his patients. Dr. Nguyen decided to join Hoag Medical Group to ensure his patients have access to the best care and the best hospital, Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian.
