Ankylosing spondylitis is one of the significant forms of arthritis, primarily affecting the spinal cord. Due to persistent inflammation of the vital joints connecting the individual vertebrae, the condition fuses bones, resulting in a deformity that affects the back. According to the most recent estimates, ankylosing spondylitis is a prevalent con

SYMPTOMS OF ARTHRITIS

Arthritis occurs when the cartilage of the joints breaks down. Without proper cartilage, which is connective tissue that protects the joint, the bones will rub together. This can cause stiffness, pain, pressure, redness and swelling. Arthritis can develop due to an injury such as a broken bone, autoimmune disease, normal wear and tear from physical activity, and from an infection. Sometimes, if the arthritic pain is being caused by an injury or an infection, once the condition heals, the arthritis will dissipate.

One of the most common forms of arthritis is known as osteoarthritis and usually develops in the fingers, hips and knee joints. Typical treatment is a combination of medications such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory meds; capsaicin cream; supplements such as glucosamine, chondroitin and omega-3 fatty acids; exercise; physical therapy; and dietary changes, including eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.

According to the Association of Medical Practitioners in the US, a major swelling in a joint coupled with inability to move, irritation, and painful spasm refer to the joint condition called arthritis, typically occurring in aged people. Though no food will offer you miraculous escapes from arthritis and its complications, the following vitamins for arthritis aid you in reducing the inflammations in your joints and promote effective arthritis pain relief.

  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids

There’s good evidence that omega-3 fatty acids have anti-inflammatory effects, Wei says. Experts say fish oil, which contains omega-3s, can help treat rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and other inflammatory conditions. Studies have found that omega-3s can help people with rheumatoid arthritis lower their doses of corticosteroids or NSAIDs.
Omega-3s are found in cold-water fish such as mackerel and salmon, but because there’s risk of getting too much mercury from eating more than six to eight ounces of fish a week, it’s a good idea to take fish oil supplements for this arthritis treatment.

  • Glucosamine

Glucosamine is a natural compound found in cartilage. Using glucosamine supplements is one of the vitamins for arthritis.

  • Chondroitin Sulfate:

This is used with glucosamine, helps build the cartilage, and prevents pain in thejoints. If chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine are taken in conjunction as supplements for joint pain, the pain may be abated and the joints may become stronger.

  • Vitamin C

Some studies have found that the antioxidant vitamin C is important for building connective tissue, but it’s hard to say whether that translates to less arthritis pain, Wei says. Rather than taking vitamin C as a supplement, he recommends getting it through a healthy diet. Research has found that people with the least amount of vitamin C in their diet were three times more likely to develop arthritis than people whose diets included plenty of fruits and vegetables.

  • Vitamin D

Everyone needs vitamin D but it may be even more important for people with RA to get enough vitamin D. That’s because some RA medications can cause deficiencies in patients. Without enough vitamin D, your bones can become soft and brittle. A study found that vitamin D3 helped prevent bone loss in RA patients who take steroids.

  • Vitamin E

Harboring similar properties to Vitamin C, Vitamin E is also effective in releasing antioxidants that destroy free radicals and build collagen to fortify the joints and their cartilage layers. It is thus, one of the best vitamins for arthritis. The best sources of Vitamin E are raw vegetables and fruits like cabbage, Brussels sprouts, asparagus and others. You can also try including nuts, fish oil and soya bean oil.

  • Vitamin B6

B6 is important for our nervous system health. It regulates the productions of serotonin, melatonin and epinephrine. It is also important in the processing of carbohydrates. Vitamin B6 is able to remove sulfur from other molecules so it helps maintain hormone balance and the elimination of toxic substances. Vitamin B6 plays a key role in the formation of new cells. It is also important for the formation of red blood cells. Deficiencies can lead to anemia, fatigue and malaise. Daily dosage of 100 milligrams for adults should not be exceeded because vitamin B6 toxicity can lead to imbalances in the nervous system. It can be naturally in tuna, bananas, chicken and turkey breast, cod and salmon.

  • Vitimin B12

B12 is an essential water-soluble vitamin. It can be found in shellfish, fish, meat, and dairy products.Vitamin B12 helps to maintain healthy nerve cells and red blood cells. It is also needed to make DNA. Vitamin B12 is bound to the protein in food. Hydrochloric acid in the stomach releases B12 from protein during digestion. Vitamin B12 deficiency can result from being unable to absorb vitamin B12 in the intestinal tract and can cause pernicious anemia. Vegetarians or vegans who are not taking in proper amounts of B12 are also prone to a deficiency in vitamin b12.

Lifestyle Changes to help relieve arthritis pain:

  • Improving your diet using a combination of my nutritional guidelines and nutritional typing. There are some general principles that seem to hold true for all nutritional types and these include:

  • Having unprocessed, high-quality foods, organic and locally grown if possible

  • Eating your food as close to raw as possible
