    Dr. Zhao was born and raised in China. She knew early on that medicine was her calling. Her passion for medicine started as a young child where she was raised and steeped at an early age in the tradition of Chinese Medicine in her family. She witnessed first hand the passing down generations of special family remedies with both grandfathers developing their own treatments based on traditional eastern medicine. Dr. Zhao went on to attend medical school at Dalian Medical University where she graduated in the Top 5% of her graduating class (Summa Cum Laude), receiving her medical degree in 1994. There, Dr. Zhao supervised and taught resident physicians and medical students as well as worked in the hospital attending to patients. Throughout her career in medicine, she has worked with a diverse population and has enjoyed learning about different cultures, which is why she has chosen to live and work here in Los Angeles. Today, Dr. Zhao is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine teaching medical students and resident physicians. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is fluent in both Chinese and Japanese. Dr. Zhao has two offices at the UCLA campus: Primary Care Clinic at 100 UCLA Medical Plaza, Suite 490 and the Iris Cantor ? Women's Health Center at 100 UCLA Medical Plaza, Suite 250.
