Dr. Baraff is a Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Baraff received his AB from the University of Pennsylvania and his MD from the Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed a Pediatric Residency at Georgetown University Hospital and an Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the University of Southern California. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine in Emergency Medicine and Pediatric Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is a past member of the Editorial Board of the Annals of Emergency Medicine, and his achievements have been recognized and honored by the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, the American Roentgen Ray Society, and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. He has served on the National Council and the Board of Directors of the American College of Emergency Physicians and as President of the California Chapter. He has also been a member of the Emergency Medical Services Commission of the County of Los Angeles, the National Faculty of the American Heart Association and the Executive Committee of the Southern California Injury Prevention Research Center. He played a key role in the creation of the Trauma Systems for the State of California and Los Angeles County. Dr. Baraff's fields of research interest include Health Policy and Health Services Research, Medical Decision Making, Infectious Diseases, Pediatric Emergency Medicine and Behavioral Health. He has received over $22,000,000 in research grants and is the author of over 120 scientific publications. He has done sentinel work in defining reactions associated with DTP vaccine for the Food and Drug Association. He developed Emergency Department Diagnosis Related Groups for the Health Care Finance Agency. Dr. Baraff has developed practice guidelines for the management of children with Fever Without Source and for Falls in the Elderly. He is one of a team which has developed a World Wide Web based expert system for the Management of Occupation Exposure to Blood and Body Fluids funded by the Centers for Disease Control.

Dr. Pabby grew up in Southern California after which he went to Bangalore, India to attend medical school at MS Ramaiah Medical College. He subsequently completed his residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at University of Southern California, LA County. He then worked as an associate physician in internal medicine at Brigham and Women?s Hospital in Boston, MA and was appointed instructor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, practicing fulltime internal medicine and part-time pediatrics. Dr. Pabby then went on to pursue fellowship training in gastroenterology and hepatology at the Brigham and Women?s Hospital / Harvard Medical School Program. During the third year of fellowship, he was recognized for teaching and was awarded a fellowship-teaching award by the department of medicine. In addition, during his fellowship, Dr. Pabby obtained a master?s in public health from the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, MA. Dr. Pabby is board-certified in gastroenterology, internal medicine and pediatrics. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, the Crohn?s and Colitis Foundation of America and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Pabby practices general gastroenterology with a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease. His research interests include translational and clinical research in inflammatory bowel disease.
