Dr. Cambria Garell is a board-certified general pediatrician practicing primary care at Venice Family Clinic's Simms-Mann Health and Wellness Center and pediatric multidisciplinary weight management with the UCLA Fit for Healthy Weight Program in the 300 Medical Plaza building. Dr. Garell graduated from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at UCLA. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Garell is an Associate Program Director for the UCLA Pediatric Residency Program and directs the Primary Care and Public Health Track (PHABB - Public Health Ambulatory Basics and Beyond). She has a passion for working with underserved patient populations and interests in obesity treatment and prevention, nutrition education, oral health, the pediatrician's role in smoking cessation counseling, and advocacy.

Dr. Christine Thang is a Clinical Instructor in the Division of General Pediatrics. Dr. Thang is a board-certified pediatrician and member of the faculty practice at the Children's Health Center in Westwood, CA. She precepts medical students and resident physicians training in the UCLA pediatrics clinic. She is also one of the medical team providers for the UCLA Pediatric Craniofacial Program. Her clinical interests are in well newborn care, craniofacial needs, childhood trauma and resiliency, and healthy lifestyle and nutrition. Dr. Thang earned her medical degree from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) with AOA honors. She completed her pediatric training in the UCLA Pediatric Residency Program and was awarded the Excellence in Teaching with Humanism Residents and Fellows Award. After residency, she served as a Chief Resident and concurrently pursued the DGSOM Medical Education Fellowship. Dr. Thang received her undergraduate degree from UCLA with a major in Physiological Sciences and minor in Asian American Studies, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. Her professional interests include community pediatrics, advocacy, and medical education. She is actively involved in the American Academy of Pediatrics at the local and national levels. Dr. Thang is dedicated to improving the care of all children and to teaching at the undergraduate and graduate medical education levels. Dr. Thang grew up in Los Angeles. She is a spirited Bruin alumna.

James H. Lee, MD, FAAP is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. After completing his undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley, he received his medical degree from Michigan State University and completed his pediatrics residency training at UCLA. After residency, Dr. Lee was recruited to stay on as faculty at UCLA. In addition to his clinical responsibilities as a general pediatrician, he has leadership roles in medical education. He serves as the Associate Program Director, Continuity Clinic Director, and Resident Advisor for the Pediatrics Residency Training Program. In regards to the medical students at DGSOM, he is the Director of the Preclinical Student Pediatric Clinical Skills Course, the Pediatrics Clerkship Site Director, and a faculty advisor for the medical students interested in pursuing Pediatrics or Primary Care as a field. Dr. Lee is a faculty sponsor for the Pediatrics Interest Group and works with the group to educate the field of Pediatrics to medical students and to help create mentorship opportunities between motivated students and pediatric residents. Dr. Lee's research interests include medical education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and enhancing the care of our pediatric population with a focus on children with special healthcare needs. His passion for teaching has been recognized by being awarded the prestigious Robert C Neerhout Teaching Award three times at the Assistant Clinical Professor level. Finally, in 2020, he was selected to be one of DGSOM's Educators for Excellence to be involved in the development and teaching of the practice of medicine curriculum to the incoming medical students.
