Dr. Allen M. Chen is a board-certified UCI Health radiation oncologist who specializes in the management of head and neck cancers. He serves as chair of the UCI School of Medicine's Department of Radiation Oncology. Chen received his medical degree from Yale University's School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, followed by residencies in radiation oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and UC San Francisco School of Medicine. Before joining the UCI School of Medicine and UCI Health, he served as residency director for radiation oncology at the UC Davis School of Medicine, vice chair of radiation oncology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, then chair of radiation oncology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. He also holds master's degrees in business administration from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA, where he was awarded the John Wooden Global Leadership Fellowship, and the National University of Singapore-Business School, where he studied international finance and business development. Regarded among the leading international authorities on optimizing cure rates and quality of life for head and neck cancer patients, Chen has published more than 200 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests also include the role of human papillomavirus (HPV) in head and neck cancers. His 2017 study on de-escalation for HPV-positive cancer, the first to suggest a benefit in reducing radiation doses, is now standard protocol. He also has conducted numerous clinical trials on re-irradiation techniques for recurrent cancers of the head and neck. He serves on leadership committees for the National Cancer Institute, the Radiological Society of North America, the American Board of Radiology, and is a fellow of the American Society for Radiation Oncology.

Eric E. Johnson, MD, is an experienced orthopaedic trauma specialist who leads his own practice in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.  Dr. Johnson earned his medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. He completed an internship and residency in surgery there in the following years. He then moved to California to perform an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Johnson then took his talents and ambitions overseas, first to Hanover, Germany, and then to Paris, France. In Hannover, Dr. Johnson completed a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma surgery at Hannover Medical School. In Paris, he completed a fellowship in pelvic and acetabular fracture surgery at the Centre Medico-Chirurgical de la Porte de Choisy and the University of Paris. Dr. Johnson is certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a faculty member at AO/ASIF, the past president of AO North America, a past member of the Board of Directors of the AO Foundation, an honorary member of the AO Foundation, and a member of the German and Argentine Trauma Societies. Additionally, Dr. Johnson has been named an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In addition to Dr. Johnsons professional affiliations, he has also authored 47 published abstracts, 51 peer-reviewed publications, and 11 book chapters. By the end of 2019, Dr. Johnson will have given over 230 international presentations and 228 national presentations at annual orthopaedic gatherings. He has also served as the chairman for over 45 national and international orthopaedic fracture courses in his esteemed career.  Through his work with the AO Foundation and other international trauma societies, Dr. Johnson continues to grow his knowledge of orthopaedic surgery and remains on the cutting edge of his field. Yvonne J. Bryson, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital and is the Director of the Los Angeles Brazil AIDS Consortium. She is a world-renown leader, researcher, virologist and clinician in the field of HIV pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of maternal-fetal and pediatric HIV-1, and is an active member of the Pediatric AIDS Clinical Trial Group. She is currently the Chair of the NIH Network IMPAACT (International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials) PMTCT Committee (Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV). An invited member on the U.S. Public Health Service Task Force on the Use of Zidovudine to Reduce Perinatal Transmission of Human Immunodeficiency Virus, Dr. Bryson was influential in the development of CDC and Public Health guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of HIV-infected pregnant women and has been involved in the planning and execution of national cooperative studies of maternal-fetal HIV transmission. She has made significant contributions to the development of some of the original studies of the use of Zidovudine for the prevention of perinatal HIV, studies of maternal risk factors for vertical transmission of HIV, as well as advances in the early diagnosis of HIV in newborns. Dr. Bryson has significant experience in leading large multicenter clinical trials and networks and developing clinical sites and laboratories. She is recognized as a national and international expert and leader in the field of HIV and perinatal transmission. She has made important and original scientific contributions to the field and served on many advisory committees and NIH Study Sections, and has been consistently funded by the National Institutes of Health, including numerous RO1 grants. Dr. Bryson has mentored numerous postdoctoral fellows and young faculty for successful careers in academic medicine. She was one of the original members of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation heath advisory board and helped start the foundation with Elizabeth, Dr. Richard Stiehm, and two co-founders. She has made a strong commitment to international studies and to her collaborators in Brazil to help them develop the necessary infrastructure to design, conduct, and implement new approaches to prevent and treat HIV. Dr. Bryson is a strong advocate for mothers and children with HIV. She is also an expert in general pediatrics, herpes infections, and other viral, bacterial, and opportunistic infections.
