Most wireless cameras are technically cordless devices, meaning that though they transmit a radio signal, they still need to be plugged into a power source. Still, wireless is the commonly used industry term. Some cameras do have batteries, of course, making them truly wireless.

Most mid- and high-end TVs are now Ultra HD resolution, with many also supporting HDR. Not surprisingly, cable manufacturers are jumping at the chance to sell new and more expensive "4K" HDMI cables. But guess what -- you probably don't need 4K HDMI cables, because your current ones can likely do 4K just fine.

4K is known as Ultra High Definition (UHD), whilst 1080P is simply labelled High Definition. As their names imply, 4K UHD has a considerably higher resolution than 1080P HD video. 4K resolution is exactly 3840 x 2160 pixels, whilst 1080P consists of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

HDMI 2.0: Increased maximum bitrate to 18 Gbps to support new formats such as Ultra High Definition 4K video (3840 x 2160 pixels) at up to 60 frames per second. (The 1.4 spec also supports 4K video but only up to 30 frames per second.)

A wireless security camera transmits video wirelessly from a transmitter (built into the camera) to a receiver (a DVR or monitor). However, wireless security cameras still need wires for power. Batteries cannot provide the power needed to sustain a camera and transmitter for more than a day or two.

The two types of cables used for the installation of Security Cameras and Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) are Plug and Play Cables (PnP) and RG59 Coax Siamese cable. Each type of Camera Cable has positives and negatives about them which is disussed below.
