Dr. Zhao was born and raised in China. She knew early on that medicine was her calling. Her passion for medicine started as a young child where she was raised and steeped at an early age in the tradition of Chinese Medicine in her family. She witnessed first hand the passing down generations of special family remedies with both grandfathers developing their own treatments based on traditional eastern medicine. Dr. Zhao went on to attend medical school at Dalian Medical University where she graduated in the Top 5% of her graduating class (Summa Cum Laude), receiving her medical degree in 1994. She then went on to do cancer research in Molecular Biology at the Medical School of Nippon in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Zhao completed her internship and residency at New York University Medical Center in 2004. After her graduation from NYU, she was appointed to the faculty as a Clinical Instructor at New York Presbyterian Hospital Queens Campus, which is affiliated with Weill Medical College of Cornell University. There, Dr. Zhao supervised and taught resident physicians and medical students as well as worked in the hospital attending to patients. Throughout her career in medicine, she has worked with a diverse population and has enjoyed learning about different cultures, which is why she has chosen to live and work here in Los Angeles. Today, Dr. Zhao is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine teaching medical students and resident physicians. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is fluent in both Chinese and Japanese. Dr. Zhao has two offices at the UCLA campus: Primary Care Clinic at 100 UCLA Medical Plaza, Suite 490 and the Iris Cantor ? Women's Health Center at 100 UCLA Medical Plaza, Suite 250. Dr. Shen Ling came to the U.S in his early life, and has been through rigorous and highly competitive training throughout his career. With a biology major, he continued onto graduate studies at UCLA, and then entered prestigious Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors in 1994. He furthered his education, returning to UCLA, with an three-year specialty residency training program in periodontics and implant surgery. In 2001 Dr. Ling became Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). Dr. Ling is a consultant to several dental manufacturers, and frequently speaks at national meetings and study groups. His most recent lecture was given at an international implant meeting in Shanghai, China. While at Harvard and at UCLA, Dr. Ling was involved with research in anti-microbial therapy in periodontics and non-surgical therapy which have won him awards and resulted in scientific publications in several dental journals. Dr. Ling limits his clinical practice to surgical and conservative periodontics, periodontal plastic surgery, soft and hard tissue reconstructive surgery, and surgical aspects of dental implants. He is currently a part-time lecturer at UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Ling spends most of his personal time his personal time mostly with his two daughters, and is a soccer coach for their teams. He is married to Dr. Wei Huang, MD.
