Albert Nejat, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified podiatrist and the leader of the team at the Podiatry Institute of Southern California in Culver City, California. Dr. Nejat has always been drawn to podiatry because it gives him the opportunity to often make people feel dramatically better in just a single visit. Dr. Nejat pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine before receiving his podiatry degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then continued his education through a residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center and a podiatric surgery residency at the Interfaith Medical Center, both in Brooklyn, New York. After opening up his own practice in New York and practicing there for several years, Dr. Nejat returned to his childhood home of Los Angeles in 2002 and has practiced here ever since. Dr. Valerie Wong is a primary care geriatrician and geriatric extensivist physician who practices in Westwood and Santa Monica. She aims to provide personalized medicine to the elderly and specializes in the diagnosis and management of geriatric syndromes, including cognitive disorders, polypharmacy, falls, incontinence, and transitions of care. The extensivist program seeks to help patients with complex medical conditions better manage their care and minimize unnecessary hospitalizations. Dr. Wong is currently working to expand the services provided to include home visits and nursing home care so that extensivist patients can have a doctor familiar with their care in all settings. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Wong is a core faculty member for the UCLA Geriatric Fellowship Program and is serving as the Hospitalist Track Director. Dr. Wong received her medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She finished her training by coming to UCLA for her geriatric medicine fellowship. She earlier earned her bachelor's degree from Brown University with a concentration in Neuroscience. He is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Barthelet received his medical degree from the Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York. He then completed his internal medicine residency at UCLA, where he participated in the resident informatics group for two years. He earlier received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from UC Santa Barbara. Dr. Barthelet is a native French speaker who was raised in the Bay Area and lived in San Francisco for 10 years. He is a new father, and when he’s not working, enjoys spending time with his family, including two dogs, running, woodworking, and taking things apart to see how they work.

Dr. Chung currently works in the NICU at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital and UCLA Medical Center Santa Monica. She received her medical degree at St. George's University School of Medicine, completed her pediatric residency at Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey, and finally her fellowship training in Neonatology at Tufts Medical Center. She earned her bachelor's degree at University of California, San Diego. During fellowship, she studied clinical practice and risk factors related to development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in preterm infants. She has also been involved with quality improvement projects in reducing the rate of intraventricular hemorrhage in extremely preterm infants. There isn't one place that Dr. Chung calls home because she has lived all over the world, but she is finally happy to be back in her favorite place to live – Southern California. When she isn't working in the NICU, you can find her cooking/baking, going to the beach with her dog, or traveling and exploring somewhere new!
