The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car produced by Chevrolet. The seventh generation Corvette was introduced for the 2014 model year as the first to bear the Corvette Stingray name since the 1976 third generation model. The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was selected as the official pace car of the 2015 Indianapolis 500 with Indiana native and NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon selected to drive. This is the 13th Corvette to be selected in 99 years of the race.

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is a version of the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray with 6.2L supercharged intercooled LT4 engine with 1.7L Eaton R1740 TVS supercharger, which makes 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. It also has Rotocast A356T6 aluminum cylinder heads, a removable roof panel, seven-speed Tremec manual with rev-matching technology or an Hydra-Matic 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, a removable carbon fiber roof panel, uniquely calibrated SLA-type front and rear suspension design, standard Magnetic Selective Ride Control dampers, standard smart electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD) integrated with Electronic Stability Control and Performance Traction Management systems, Michelin Pilot Sport P285/30ZR19 front and 335/25ZR20 rear tires.
