Dr. Jason Lerner is a pediatric neurologist and epileptologist who sees patients at UCLA Westwood and Manhattan Beach. He is board-certified in Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology and Epilepsy. Dr. Lerner runs the Adolescent Epilepsy Center at UCLA and his clinical focus is on adolescents with epilepsy. The majority of Dr. Lerner's education was completed on the East Coast. He completed a bachelor's degree at The College of New Jersey and earned a medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed two residency programs: Pediatrics at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Child Neurology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. This was followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Lerner is an Associate Professor at UCLA where he has spent his entire professional career. He has held multiple leadership positions including the Child Neurology Residency Director and the Director of the Pediatric Neurophysiology Lab. Currently, he is the Associate Clinical Chief of Pediatric Neurology, Director of the Adolescent Epilepsy Center, President of the Department of Pediatrics Group Practice, and is a member of the UCLA Ronald Regan Medical Center Medical Staff Executive Committee. Dr. Lerner's research interests include epilepsy in the adolescent population, seizures after traumatic brain injury, and clinical neurophysiology. As many people know, Dr. Lerner's wife Kelli has had epilepsy since childhood. The idea for the Adolescent Epilepsy Center at UCLA came from the stories and struggles told by Kelli and the many patients and their families he has met throughout his career. Dr. Dustin Z. Zeng and the staff of Royal Medical Aesthetic Center serve the residents of many California communities, including Irvine and San Gabriel. Dr. William May is Clinical Director of Pediatric Hematology Oncology and the Director of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Section of the Division of Pediatric Hematology Oncology at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He has been board certified in Pediatric Hematology Oncology since 1992. Dr. May earned his Bachelor's degree at the University of California Davis and his MD from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine. His Pediatric Internship was at UCLA and he completed his residency years at UCSF. His Pediatric Hematology Oncology Fellowship was at UCLA. Prior to his present appointment, Dr. May held a faculty position at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and the Children's Hospital of Alabama from 1996-2003. From 2003-2016, he was on faculty at the Keck School of Medicine at USC and on staff at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. May's clinical interests are in Hematologic Malignancies of Childhood and Adolescence. He is UCLA Principal Investigator for the Children's Oncology Group (COG). He is responsible for the conduct of COG clinical trials at UCLA.

Dr. Jonathan Barthelet is a primary care and extensivist physician who practices in Santa Monica. As a member of the UCLA Extensivist Program, a medical home that cares for high-risk, complex patients who are more likely to be hospitalized, he is particularly interested in clinical informatics and high-value, low-cost care. He is board certified in internal medicine. Dr. Barthelet received his medical degree from the Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York. He then completed his internal medicine residency at UCLA, where he participated in the resident informatics group for two years. He earlier received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from UC Santa Barbara. Dr. Barthelet is a native French speaker who was raised in the Bay Area and lived in San Francisco for 10 years. He is a new father, and when he’s not working, enjoys spending time with his family, including two dogs, running, woodworking, and taking things apart to see how they work.

Dr. Valerie Wong is a primary care geriatrician and geriatric extensivist physician who practices in Westwood and Santa Monica. She aims to provide personalized medicine to the elderly and specializes in the diagnosis and management of geriatric syndromes, including cognitive disorders, polypharmacy, falls, incontinence, and transitions of care. The extensivist program seeks to help patients with complex medical conditions better manage their care and minimize unnecessary hospitalizations. Dr. Wong is currently working to expand the services provided to include home visits and nursing home care so that extensivist patients can have a doctor familiar with their care in all settings. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Wong is a core faculty member for the UCLA Geriatric Fellowship Program and is serving as the Hospitalist Track Director. She is a clinical instructor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Wong received her medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She then completed her internal medicine residency at UC Davis, where she completed additional training in quality improvement, medical education and primary care. She finished her training by coming to UCLA for her geriatric medicine fellowship. She earlier earned her bachelor's degree from Brown University with a concentration in Neuroscience. Dr. Wong was born and raised in the Bay Area. When she's not working, she enjoys biking along the beach, tennis, hiking and baking.
