Dr. Berke came to UCLA in 1979 to complete his surgical residency after graduating from both undergraduate and medical school at the University of Southern California. In 1984 Dr. Berke was appointed to the UCLA Division of Head and Neck Surgery as Assistant Professor and, in 1992, was given an accelerated promotion to Professor and Chief of the UCLA Division of Head and Neck Surgery. After 20 years as Division Chief, Dr. Berke became the first Chairman of the UCLA Department of Head and Neck Surgery in 2012. His primary clinical interests include laryngology, voice disorders, and oncology. Dr. Berke is considered by his peers to be an international authority on laryngeal physiology. He has authored nearly 200 manuscripts based on laryngeal physiology and voice disorders and has mentored numerous residents and research fellows. Dr. Berke founded the UCLA Voice Center for Medicine and the Arts in 2004, the first of its kind on the West Coast. He also developed the only surgical treatment for spasmodic dysphonia, which affects 35,000 individuals in the U.S. annually, and brings patients from all over the world to UCLA. Dr. Berke also pioneered many of the techniques now used by laryngologists to treat patients in an office setting. Dr. Berke served as president of the American Laryngeal Association – the oldest subspecialty society in the U.S. – and as president of the Triological Society, the nation’s primary academic society in otolaryngology. He is currently one of 16 directors on the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a member of the National Spasmodic Dysphonia Association and a member of the Advisory Council of the National Institute of Deafness and other Communication Disorders (NIDCD). Dr. Berke’s research has produced the foundation for an extraordinarily productive voice laboratory dedicated to the assessment of laryngeal function, laryngeal vibration studies and voice quality measures. Currently he is working on requirements for organ and nerve preservation for eventual laryngeal transplantation in humans. Benjamin J. Ansell, MD, received a dual undergraduate degree with distinction in Biology and as a College Scholar in Music from Cornell University, followed by his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine. He subsequently performed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Ansell currently serves as Professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in the Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is also Director of the Comprehensive Health Program, Co-Director of Cholesterol, Hypertension, and Atherosclerosis Management Program (CHAMP) and the Medical Hospitality Program at UCLA. Dr. Ansell is a member of the American Heart Association Council on Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, and certified by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Clinical Lipidology. He has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the National Lipid Association. He is a member of the Board of the National Lipid Association, past member of the Board of the Pacific Lipid Association, past President of the Executive Board of the UCLA Department of Medicine Professional Group, and current member of the Managed Care Utilization Review Committee of the UCLA Medical Group. Dr. Ansell is the founder and director of the Cardiovascular Discovery Fund, which supports promising novel developments in heart disease and related conditions. He has also served as a Director of the Ashford Hospitality Trust (NYSE: AHT) since 2009. Listed among Castle-Connolly's "America's Top Doctors" and chosen by Town & Country magazine as one of the "Best Physicians in America," Dr. Ansell has a range of research experience relating to cholesterol treatment strategies in preventing and managing cardiovascular diseases. He has been principal investigator of the hs-CRP and HDL Effects of Statins Trial (CHEST), the Statins/HDL Increased Function Trial (SHIFT), and the Statin Anti-Rheumatic Activity (SARA) Trial. He is on the review boards of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, The American Journal of Cardiology, and the Journal of General Internal Medicine, among others. He has delivered approximately two hundred invited lectures, as well as published 40 peer-reviewed papers in the Journal of the American Medical Association, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, Archives of Internal Medicine, and the American Journal of Cardiology, among others. His publications have focused on HDL (high-density lipoprotein) and inflammation, cholesterol management, stroke reduction, cardiovascular risk reduction in women, and national cholesterol guidelines. He has also been featured by The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, National Public Radio, Glamour Magazine, ABC World News Tonight, MSNBC, and Dateline NBC.

Dr. Richard David serves as Chief Medical Officer for Skyline Urology, the largest Urology group in Los Angeles. He also serves as medical director for Skylines Advanced Prostate Cancer Center of Excellence. Dr David received a Masters in Medical Management (MMM) degree from the Marshall School of Business at USC and serves as Clinical Professor of Urology (Vol) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. His clinical and research interest includes minimally invasive endoscopic treatment for urologic diseases, sexual function and prosthetics, and advanced prostate cancer. He has published extensively and presented at many international conferences in this area. He has received Super Doctor designation 13 times. Dr David obtained his undergraduate education at Stanford University, Stanford, CA, and his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA. He trained in general surgery and completed his urology residency at UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Joshua Hyong-Jin Cho is director of the UCLA Insomnia Clinic at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and a board-certified psychiatrist who practices in Westwood. His clinical interests include the treatment of insomnia and depression. Dr. Cho is also an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He currently conducts epidemiological and translational research on how inflammation is involved in the treatment of insomnia and depression. Throughout his career, his research has focused more broadly on the role of inflammation in depression, fatigue, and sleep disturbance?collectively known as "sickness behavior." Dr. Cho obtained his medical degree (MD) from the University of Sao Paulo School of Medicine. He then completed his psychiatry residency training at the University of Sao Paulo, and later completed a second psychiatry residency at UCLA. He earned a master's degree in epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and earned his doctorate (PhD) from the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, before training as a postdoctoral fellow at the Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology at UCLA. Dr. Cho has received an NIH R21 Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Award and an NIH K23 Career Development Award. He was awarded the UCLA CTSI KL2 Translational Science Award, the NARSAD Young Investigator Grant, the UCLA MSTAR Best Research Mentor Award, and several other awards from institutions such as the National Institutes of Health, the American Psychiatric Association, the Southern Psychiatric Association, the American Psychosomatic Society, and the Korean Neuro-Psychiatric Association. His scientific work has been published in prestigious journals including American Journal of Psychiatry, Molecular Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry, British Journal of Psychiatry, and Neuropsychopharmacology.

Dr. Sage Humphries is a Southern California native. After graduating from Laguna Beach High School, Dr. Humphries attended the University of California at Irvine, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Upon graduating, he was elected into both the Golden Key and Phi Beta Kappa national honor societies. Dr. Humphries did not stray far from home when selecting a dental school, where he attended the University of California at Los Angeles. Graduating with high honors from UCLA Dental School, he received numerous awards for his academic and clinical performance and was elected into Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. Subsequently, Dr. Humphries made the trek across Los Angeles to the University of Southern California, where he completed three years of specialty training in orthodontics. Dr. Humphries received his Certificate of Achievement in Orthodontics and a Master of Science in Craniofacial Biology from USC. Additionally, he was elected into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Dr. Sage Humphries is well versed in all aspects of orthodontics. As a post-doctoral orthodontic resident at USC, he was instructed in the latest orthodontic technologies, including the use and placement of temporary anchorage devices (TADs), Invisalign® (invisible braces), and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). In order to earn his Master of Science degree in Craniofacial Biology, Dr. Humphries completed extensive research on TADs for his masters thesis. Accordingly, Dr. Humphries prides himself on not only treating his patients with the utmost interest and consideration, but also providing them with the latest in cutting-edge orthodontic technology and state-of-the-art orthodontic care.
