Metro PCS does not charge activation fee. If you are a current MetroPCS subscriber and are switching to a different phone they will charge you a $15 fee in store for an ESN change. You can avoid this charge by doing the ESN change yourself on their website.

In rare cases, your phone will not have an SIM card. This means it uses CDMA technology, and you will have to contact your new carrier to unlock it.

With metropcs, if you add more lines to your $40 per month calling plan it will cost you $30 for line #2, and then $35 for each additional up to a total of 5 lines. Total cost of 2 lines $70/mo. Total cost of 3 lines $105/mo.
