Train tickets can be used by anyone. You'll still be able to buy them tickets through Self-Print, all you have to do is book in their name and tell them they'll need to bring some ID. If that person is collecting tickets from a ticket vending machine, they will need the credit or debit card used to make the booking.

Tickets are ready within 2 hours after booking online and can be collected any time before travel. Fast Ticket machines are located at most mainline stations or selected site locations. For collection, please have with you, Credit / debit card used to make the booking.
How do you activate your train line ticket?

To use the you need to activate them. You can only activate your ticket on the day of travel when if you log into the app, you will find a green 'Activate' button below your ticket. Click on it only if you are sure of travelling as after this you cannot get a refund.
