Grants are offered by the federal government, state government, schools and colleges and NGO. There are private organizations too that offer grants for deserving candidates.

Grants and scholarships are confused as one but are different. Scholarships are based on merit whereas grants are offered to students who are in need, based on their family income.
Do grants have to be paid back?

In most cases, grants do not have to be repaid to the source. The grant is available for organizations and individuals and must be used for the purposes which the grant is created for.
