Can I use a steam cleaner on wooden floors?

Never use a steam cleaner on a wood floor. The combination of heat and moisture and pressure could be very damaging to the wood. Always use a damp mop or cloth only. Steam will flow down between slats, penetrate the wood, stain it black. At worst, it will lift the coating, causing it to peel away.

Yes. When green products first hit the market decades ago, some did not work well. Over time their makers have reformulated many of them into healthier, effective household staples.
