Beard Balm. Unlike beard oils that are primarily carrier oil-based, balms are generally butter-based. At The August Beard we use a balanced blend of shea butter and cocoa butter. After a certain point though, too much beeswax can leave your beard crunchy, dry, and brittle.

Heating the Mixture. Place 2 ounces Shea butter, 1 ounce of Beeswax, and 4 ounces of coconut carrier oil into the vat and place over a very low heat. Mixing the Balm. Watch closely as the ingredients begin to melt and blend together. Adding Essential Oils. Pour Into the Tin. Cooling the Balm.
